This November, ACMI will host DigiCon 23, a two-day festival of talks and workshops for teachers seeking to deliver high impact learning using emerging, immersive and interactive technologies. For the first time ever, ACMI, Digital Learning and Teaching Victoria (DLTV) have collaborated with Games for Change (Asia Pacific) to present a massive program showcasing the best in game-based learning and digital technology for the classroom.

Learn with expert teachers who are using AI, AR, XR, video games, robotics and more with inspiring results.

Two days, four Keynote and panels, 40 presentations, hands on workshops, playful activities, Mario Kart 3 Player Relay plus awards, networking and more. Don’t miss the biggest professional learning event for STEAM and DTC in 2023.

Day one

Vincent Siu

Vincent Siu is an award-winning game and learning experience designer from Hong Kong. Vincent is the founder and CEO of the education startup, Press Start Academy which builds game-based, immersive facilitated K-12 learning experiences and trains teachers to do the same for their students. Press Start Academy are experts in learning through play, gamification, hybrid learning design and generative AI in education.

Day one

Associate Professor Gillian Vesty

Associate Professor Gillian Vesty is an Associate Professor and Deputy Dean L&T in the School of Accounting, Information Systems and Supply Chain at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. Gillian teaches in the field of management accounting but prior to becoming an academic, she worked in the healthcare sector as a Registered Nurse. Passionate about serious games as a tool to leverage gamification for learning, her research seeks to align management accounting’s needs with social impact research around health and wellbeing challenges from a value-based healthcare perspective.

Day two

Keynote Panel from Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership

Dr. Isabelle Kingsley

Dr. Isabelle Kingsley is a Senior Research Associate for the Office of the Women in STEM Ambassador at UNSW. Isabelle leads research projects to investigate how to dismantle barriers and support girls’ and women’s participation in STEM education and careers. A former high school teacher and museum educator, she has producing internationally award-winning education programs. She is co-founder and former director of the Sydney Science Festival and former Chief Education and Research Officer for an education company creating videogames to engage students in science learning
